Communication

Social Communication Hierarchy

The following diagram illustrates the communication hierarchy of the YonderSpot Community Portal and how this proprietary model is designed to address the specific needs of connecting rural communities and the groups and individuals that comprise such communities.

The Individual

Rural Americans have lost the ability to effectively ascertain specific information relevant to their locale. Today’s browsers and Internet Service Providers have the technology to identify specifically where a user is connecting, but the application of that knowledge to provide relevant content, news, advertising and media is seriously lacking.

Micro-Groups

This is the most detailed segment of the portal, enabling powerful interaction amongst the smallest of groups within a specific community. From local chambers of commerce, to the women’s auxiliary, to church groups, and other such highly targeted organizations; they will all have a platform for communicating, sharing, announcing events, and promoting their respective agendas amongst each other and within the community they represent.

Individual Community

This portion of the portal is directed at the community as a whole. At this level, community news and business trade will be the primary focus, followed by various social media opportunities and citizen journalism that bring to life the rural culture via the Internet. Businesses will also have a platform for promotion and business growth options.

Geo-based Communities

This is the level of community interaction that will link a group of communities to each other. Geo-based groups are based on geographical proximity and trade area of business and residential needs. This will enable businesses to cost-effectively promote outside a primary trade area, as well as enable citizens and micro-groups of such communities to connect and communicate to a broader audience and for both buyers and sellers to reach a broader audience, thus stimulating a greater degree of “local” commerce.

Regional Area

This level expands beyond geo-based communities to reach a particular region of a state, such as west Texas or northern Nevada. Such a regional area may or may not include an urban center of more than 50,000 in population. In cases where a region does include such an urban center, then businesses and citizens within the urban center will enjoy the ability to reach out to the outlying communities through very unique ways. Additionally, geo-based communities, especially businesses, will now enjoy new strategies in reaching a larger target audience that’s been unattainable in the past, thus stimulating a greater degree of “regional” commerce.
